Summer Tumbling

TUMBLENASIUM

Nasium Gym offers a variety of tumbling options for all ages and skill levels. Click the class below to learn more about each of our options.

Beginner Tumblers

Students will enjoy learning the basics of tumbling movements, rolling, cartwheeling & round off, and bridges, while building physical movement skills for life. Starting young the child becomes better prepared and more confident to attempt more advanced skills as they progress throughout the summer.

Level 1

​This class will start to build the foundation for the rest of the skills to come. From here most skills are either with a spot, or on the equipment that will aid them. For this class, students should have cartwheel, bridges (unassisted) backbend (assisted), forward roll. In Tumbling 1 we will focus on:

  • Flexibility & strength exercises
  • Handstands 
  • Kick overs from bridges
  • Back and front overs

Level 2

This class will build on the basic skills from tumbling 1 class. For this class, you must have backbend and stand up (unassisted) kick over from backbend. From here the skills will get more complex and these basics are crucial to achieve success in the next level. In Tumbling 2 we will focus on:

  • Flexibility & strength exercises
  • Back and front Arabians 
  • Back and front walk overs
  • Backhand springs 

Level 3

This class will start the more advanced skills that without some prior tumbling experience may be to challenging to some students. In this class, students must have front walk over, back walkover, experience with backhand springs. Students will further improve their tumbling technique and skills will be broken down into each phase of the movements, so the student can gain proficiency and perfection of these skills and move towards higher progress of tumbling! In Tumbling 3 we will focus on: 

  • Flexibility & strength exercises
  • Back and front arabians 
  • Backhand springs (standing)
  • Round off backhand springs

Level 4

For this level you must have a backhand spring without assistance.  Class time will be spent focusing on proper training and drills for a back tuck, layout, standing tucks, & fulls. Strength, endurance, and flexiblity are the core of this class! In Tumbling 4 we will focus on:

  • Flexibility & strength exercises
  • Multiple Backhand springs
  • Tucks, layouts, fulls
  • Connecting passes
